Mario Passavanti
Mario was born on December 2, 1948 in Carrara, Italy. Mario has been painting since he was a child. He has lived in San Francisco since 1970. In 1975 he travelled back to Florence to begin studies under the direction of Maestro Romano Stephanelli, a follower of Maestro Pierro Annigoni. He frequently returns to Italy to continue his studies in painting, drawing and frescoes.
In the winter of 1983–84 Mario assisted Maestro Romano Stefanelli in painting frescoes at the reconstructed monastery in Montecassino, Italy, which had been destroyed in World War II. Mario had his first one-man show in San Francisco in March of 1985 and continues to exhibit frequently. His paintings are in several private collections throughout the United States, Switzerland and Italy.
