Raymond Martineau
“I came to San Francisco in 1962 and enrolled in the San Francisco Art Institute where I received a B.A. and M.F.A. in Fine Arts. I studied art with Manuel Neri, Alvin Light, Julius Hatofsky and printmaking under Ren? Castro at the Mission Cultural Center in San Francisco.
“I work in a vivid watercolor style experimenting with both transparent and opaque paints. My special interest is in painting Samba and Haitian dancers, endeavoring to capture their spirit and movements.”
